Article is currently offering contradictory information as to whether vacuum bomb is banned or not.
[edit]The only source that is being posted they are saying it is illegal are two news articles with the same quote from the same person, "Ms Markarova told reporters: “They used the vacuum bomb today, which is actually prohibited by the Geneva convention." The sources that I posted are two different sources stating they are not illegal stating they are not illegal under international law which the Geneva conventions fall under. The article from the HRW would state if they were illegal under the Geneva Convention. According to the Thermobaric weapon page they were used in both Afghanistan and Fallujah after the HRW article was posted and the only amendment to the Geneva conventions after this was in 2005 which had to do with adoption of standards to identify medics. This article in the NY times [1] talks about how the weapons were used in Syria however it again does not mention their legality, only that they were used and the article was literally written in Geneva, one would think it would be stated clearly if they were illegal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:3C1:100:EDA0:8C8F:8F6B:8FE5:377E (talk) 01:52, 1 March 2022 (UTC)
