To Do[edit]

Idaho State Historical Society links[edit]

I am actually very interested in the concept of integrating articles with NWDA collections. I work at Washington State University Library in Pullman, which is also part of NWDA. I am sensing confusion on the part of some administrators on Wikipedia about links to outside sources. The argument about Conflict of Interest is interesting, except that our whole existence in libraries is based on providing access to information. It isn't a business, it's a philosophy of service. I hope the argument comes down on the side of the value added by the digital collection information being referenced, especially in the case of a regional or state topic, where there may be few if any other repositories with research materials. It may take a while though.

On this article specifically, I want to mention in the text about archive resources from ISHS. Being mindful of copyright violations, I will craft a section based on the the Old Pen. Please feel free to edit, especially if I get too far off the mark.

So join in if you want. The water is fine. (Except that in Idaho it doesn't get very warm in some of the rivers and lakes.) --Robbie Giles 00:56, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that our job is to provide access to information, and I am looking forward to finding a way to integrate the NWDA finding aids with Wikipedia in a way that is acceptable to all parties. We would especially have to do this in such a way that doesn't violate Wikipedia's policies. I agree that this will take some time.
I am concerned about copyright issues and NWDA finding aids, and how to incorporate the content from the finding aids without being told that it is a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Copyrights Avecchione 15:40, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Amy[reply]

Prison Guards interviews[edit]

I added a short paragraph on the oral history collection. I listed Kathy Hodges as the author. I am not up on cataloging of archival resources, so I am unsure if this is actually the correct citation. Let me know if this works in the article. I used a basic web citation template. I can't find one specifically for archival collections. --Robbie Giles 15:26, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

External links modified[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Old Idaho State Penitentiary. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
