The ext says "By the end of 17th century the municipal council ... established the first partidos in the countryside: San Isidro ... in 1779 and San Vicente ... in 1784." But the end of the 17th century is 1699. Given the other dates, it appears that "17th century" should be corrected to "18th century". DWorley (talk) 17:57, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Partidos elsewhere

Partidos apparently are not unique to Argentina: the Mayagüez, Puerto Rico mentions them as having existed when Puerto Rico was a Spanish colony. I could not find any references to this on the web (nor did I spend much time looking). Should we expand this article to include the historical use of the term thoughout Spanish America?
