took an early interpretation? instate?

[edit]

I don't understand this sentence; I can't even parse it:

"Lorenzen took an early interpretation of Steven Weinberg (Gravitation and Cosmology, 1972) for his doubts about geometrical elements of general relativity, believing that Maxwell's equations are to be modified by general relativity instate."

What does it mean to "take an interpretation"? Whose doubts (Lorenzen's or Weinberg's)? What does "instate" mean -- should it be "instead"?

An earlier version was:

"Lorenzen followed Dingler in having doubts about geometrical elements of general relativity, believing that interpretation of Maxwell's equations are to be modified instate."

That suggests the doubts were Lorenzen's; but took an early interpretation? instate? 66.245.43.17 (talk) 23:49, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Factual problem?

[edit]

"He created and modified constructive mathematics."

The word "create" is certainly inappropriate, given the many historical precedents. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.100.65.125 (talk) 23:40, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
