I am removing the Niagara Peninsula from the opening summary, as it is not an actual peninsula, although it is commonly or popularly referred to as a peninsula. However, geographical references do not refer to it as such, and by definition it is not a peninsula. I am replacing it with more recognizable peninsulas on the planet Earth. Also, the opening summary lists 4 "references" for this sentence - which are actually definitions for the term peninsula - but do not constitute a "reference." Those definitions should be applied somewhere else where the definition of peninsula is discussed. Stevenmitchell (talk) 07:52, 8 August 2017 (UTC)
