There seems to be a concern regarding negative v. postitive news articles. The person below who stated that the article was unbalanced should add some content. When adding in content, I looked all over for news articles and court cases. If the person below has some information that would be helpful to the article as a whole, then please add it. However, do not launch personal attacks such as "lies, half truths, and misleading info", "must have been a constable hater". "Restoring" the page back to its "original" content turns it back into a stub. I restored the page back to it's original content as best I could. A lot of lies, half truths and misleading info had been put in. Also very negative news articles, no good ones. This addition desperately needs to be proved or revoked, if not true (Although I wouldn't be surprized if it was), it's highly misleading and (IMAO) comes close to slander. 68.39.174.238 15:57, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

State Constables in Pennsylvania are elected at the Municipal level, they are public officials and hold office in the executive branch of government, they have the discretion to administer their office according to statute and can appoint deputies to serve under their authority.

There are many State Constables Offices throughout the commonwealth, some are composed of just one State Constable, others are composed of several State Constables and their deputies from multiple municipalities who work together.

The Constables power of arrest is not limited to felonies, they can arrest by warrant or for ANY breach of the peace or offense endangering people or property committed in their view. They are state actors as per statute and federal court ruling. Their arrest powers are NOT the same as a citizens arrest. Looking over the article, there is still a lot of unsourced material. Title

Shouldn't this be "Pennsylvania State Constable" ? The articel text and website names seem to refer to them as "State Constables" and not "State Constable Officers". 68.39.174.238 (talk) 20:50, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Nowhere is there any official source that says a pa constables arrest authority is the same as a citizens arrest. That's absolute fiction and many constables from many different IP addresses will continue to delete such lies, these lies put constables at risk of having someone resist arrest based on false information.

This article is such a mess

I have removed all unsourced material. The latest IP has only removed sourced material, with non-existent or misleading edit summaries. Anything else added will need to be referenced due to the now-contentious nature of this article. ninety:one 22:18, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
