People in "Allegheny City" where Henry Phipps lived were not impoverished. The homes were orderly buildings built of bricks and granite. Some of them still exist.

Phippes?
[edit]Is this US family any connection to the family of Adam de Feipo (http://www.google.ie/search?hl=ga&q=%22adam+de+feipo%22&meta=) who was a leader of the Norman Invasion of Ireland and whose Irish descendants had the anglicised surname Phippes in the seventeenth century? 86.44.44.218 (talk) 18:42, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
