Proposed deletion[edit]

No secondary sources were added and no challenges to non-notability raised since February 2009. Brianhe (talk) 14:26, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

After removing blatant self-promotion there's basically a single trade magazine award (Metro Magazine). Is this now notable? -- Brianhe (talk) 04:46, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Other transportation company articles include their routes. The entries that Brianhe deleted were facts about the company and did not refer to a specific tour product (except for the President Obama tour). So should we go through all the transp company pages and delete the routes that they have posted, as that certainly also is blatant self-promotion? Glensan (talk) 23:38, 19 May 2009
I would say it depends how the information is presented. In this case, I don't see a problem with the mentions in the opening paragraph, as they flesh out the scope of the company a bit (though the mentions strike me as obvious, since any Hawaii-based tour company that DOESN'T offer tours to those mentioned places isn't going to be in business long, but anyway...). Creating a section specifically to list the available destinations starts to look like a travel brochure, and that's where we start to run into problems.
If the company is notable (as in: mentioned in 3rd-party publications) for offering trips to locations that other companies do not ("They'll lower you by helicopter into Mauna Loa so you can scoop out some lava" for an extreme/absurd example), then that would be an acceptable section, if properly sourced. This discussion hasn't answered the question whether the company itself is notable per Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). I would argue that the coverage currently cited is "trivial or incidental," in particular the 2004 Honolulu Star piece on the company sale. Other than this there are just a couple of industry or self-awarded citations. -- Brianhe (talk) 18:09, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
