Why the redirect?[edit]

Why has this article been redirected to Edmonton International Airport? While it is true that Port Alberta began as an idea by Edmonton Airports to build a physical port at the EIA, it has since evolved beyond just a physical port idea to an industry-led association to market industry and solutions for the Edmonton Capital Region and Alberta as the editor was attempting to communicate. Edmonton Airports is a founding member of the association and the idea of a physical port is still part of their mandate. I've been meaning to work on this article for some time now. Obviously the recent editor has a WP:COI and the language of the additions are WP:Promotion. As a heads up, I do intend to revert the redirect once I've had a chance to revise the article to reflect what Port Alberta has evolved into, in an unbiased manner of course. An equivalent to what Port Alberta has evolved into is Kansas City SmartPort, while CentrePort Canada in Winnipeg is an equivalent to the EIA's/Port Alberta's "physical inland port" initiative. See that's how badly written this article was. I had no idea what it was. I thought it was the expansion that opened a month ago. With less than a dozen views a day, I saw no need for an article on a part of a building. If a good article can be written, I may change my opinion. 117Avenue (talk) 04:14, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The editor has returned, overwriting the redirect. Still a COI and Promotion problem. Now is probably the time to advise the editor of such. I will do so. Hwy43 (talk) 19:41, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've completed some initial improvements. I'll return this evening to add more references to support the existing content. Hwy43 (talk) 22:36, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It is looking much better now, and more like an article. 117Avenue (talk) 04:02, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Given that the current incarnation of Port Alberta evolved from the inland port initiative, it is probably worth having its own section or subsection at some point (i.e., subsection under a "Projects" section[1]). Hwy43 (talk) 05:52, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
117Ave, thanks for adding the logo. Do you know how to edit templates? See Template talk:Infobox port#Website parameter. No response yet and I don't have the expertise to do so myself. If you do however, please have at it. Hwy43 (talk) 04:40, 13 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Structure and focus of Port Alberta has changed[edit]

The structure of Port Alberta changed in 2015 requiring updates to the page. I have made a few edits, but welcome more from the community to avoid COI (as I am the project manager for Port Alberta). Thank you. Hapticbreen (talk) 03:51, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
