Farthest Point in Contiguous U.S. from Another Country
[edit]So this is completely original research, so I cannot add it to the article, but playing around with Google Earth, I calculate that Portersville, MS seems to be the farthest point in the contiguous United States from any other country. A spot (32°40′49″N 88°29′09″W / 32.680384°N 88.485864°W) near the intersection of U.S. Route 45 and Fire Tower Road is 697.93 miles (1,123.3 km) from Middle Island, Ontario, Canada; Mouth of the Rio Grand River, Tamaulipas, Mexico; and Sandy Cay off of Grand Bahama, Bahamas. — Eoghanacht talk 04:18, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Eoghanacht: I searched for the greatest distance between Canada and the US, but the Bahamas forces the line southeast. Well done! Magnolia677 (talk) 11:34, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
