Why would fielding team use power plays if the advantages goes to only batsman team ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Murtaza7 (talkcontribs) 08:15, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The information in this article is incorrect. although the bbc website has been referenced, paragraph 8 of the same article was clearly not read. I am directly quoting http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/rules_and_equipment/4180026.stm : "Powerplay 2 and Powerplay 3 are five-over spells in which only three fielders may be outside the fielding circle, but there are no requirements about close catchers. They must be taken within the 50-over innings." this article implies that only 2 fielders can be outside the circle in every single powerplay. this is incorrect. i would change this but i do not have an account and a bot would likely change it back anyway.86.155.49.14 (talk) 16:57, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

weird wording

[edit]

>Unlike Test cricket, the fielders are spread out to save runs in limited overs cricket.

This doesn't really make sense - fielders are also spread to save runs in test cricket. 82.36.168.124 (talk) 09:41, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
