Preston University headquarters is in California, United State of America. Please see Preston University for more details. Also, please note that this discussion page is for discussing how the article might be improved. It is not for a general discussion about the topic. Plagerism

[edit]

Someone keeps trying to put sales stuff plagerized directly from the Preston an apparent advertisement web page.[1] Please stop doing that. It is a violation of copyright laws and it also violates wikipedia's wp:NPOV policy. Thank you, TallMagic (talk) 02:56, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Accreditation

[edit]

Preston University Pakistan is not accredited. The current article has FOUR reliable sources listed for that fact. Please stop trying to remove this well documented fact. Improving the article would be great and would be very much appreciated as long as one's definition for improvement isn't deleting properly sourced information. Thank you, TallMagic (talk) 19:43, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Preston University is NOT accredited in Pakistan. Someone is still trying to claim that Preston University is accredited. There are currently four reliable sources in the article for this fact that the school is not accredited. Also, please stop deleting properly sourced information. TallMagic (talk) 20:36, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In an edit comment someone made the bogus claim that http://www.hec.gov.pk/OurInstitutes/Pages/Default.aspx means that this institution is accredited. That assertion is false. Please stop making bogus claims on wikipedia and please stop deleting properly sourced information from the article. TallMagic (talk) 13:46, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Someone keeps trying to remove properly sourced information (like the well established fact that the institution is unaccredited) and replace it with text illegally copied from the Preston website. Wikipedia cannot allow this to happen or Wikipedia would be breaking copyright laws, plus the article would no longer adhere to the important wp:NPOV policy. Please stop trying to do this. It can never be allowed or Wikipedia would be vulnerable to violating copyright laws. Thanks, TallMagic (talk) 03:12, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

An anononymous editor is still making the same type edits with what appear to be misinformed edit summaries. The editor(s) will not communicate except in edit summaries. If this doesn't stop then I'll request either an IP address block on the editor or protecting the page. TallMagic (talk) 18:57, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently the same anonymous editor is still making assertions that Preston is accredited. There are FOUR references in the article supporting the fact that this place is unaccredited. The unsupported assertion to the contrary in an edit comment is not a proper source for showing Preston University to be accredited, especially when all the reliable resources say the opposite. Ammendments

[edit]

With due respect, Preston University Pakistan current accreditation status and description seems to be incorrect. Kindly find below the reasons why the current article should be ammended:

1) The four references mentioned in the description are old. I reckon that university was not recognized in the past. However, the university has managed to fulfill the acceptance criteria by Government of Pakistan and has covered its deficit.

2) The Higher Education Commission (HEC) is the primary regulator of higher education in Pakistan. Please visit the below link of Official HEC website for recognized universities in Pakistan in which Preston University Pakistan is listed. http://www.hec.gov.pk/OurInstitutes/Pages/Default.aspx

3) Since we are talking about Preston University in Pakistan, it is not appropriate to mention its credential status in USA. In Wikipedia, there is a separate link for Preston University which carries accreditation information. Therefore, the accreditation status for Preston University Pakistan should only be mentioned for Pakistan and not other countries.

4) As a matter of fact, Preston University Pakistan is one of the oldest private universities in Pakistan and produces brilliant candidates serving top organizations in the world. The university holds proper campus in major cities of Pakistan and it has excellent teaching staff. Due to these reasons, its degree is fully honored and accepted by HEC Pakistan in NWFP and Sindh Province.

5) Preston University Pakistan description mentioned in Wikipedia gives a bad impression about the university. The information is outdated. I therefore request the concerned authority to kindly amend the article and take out information which is outdated and put the University in Private Accredited Universities.

6) The description also lacks the following current information about the university:

(1) University Programs (2) Campuses (3) Facilities (4) Scholarships (5) Seminars

Looking forward for your kind attention in this regards. Hoping that the old and outdated information shall be emitted and the latest information shall be updated as mentioned above. I welcome the concerned authority to reply to my post and I hope that either they shall gather latest sources to update the article based on above facts or allow me to update it with valid sources. Hi Engineer online123, thank you for discussing your concerns on this talk page. The number below in my comment reflect a response to your same numbers given in your comment above.
    1. Assuming that you're talking about the four references that Preston University is unaccredited, those are not old. They are pointing to government websites that are kept up to dat online.
    2. It is unclear what Preston University being on that list really means. HEC has a foreign collaboration program. It would appear that Preston University is on the list because of that program. It does not appear to mean that Preston University is really fully accredited by HEC only that they have been approved to offer degrees in a couple of the providences in Pakistan. Preston University says that their headquarters is in Los Angeles. In a place that when visited was empty. see Preston University.
    3. Preston University itself says that its headquarters is in the USA. Your assertions that it is not is not supported by any source that I'm aware of.
    4. Appears to be more assertions that have no source associated with them except your own statements.
    5. The information in the article is based on the most recent information that is available.
    6. Please feel free to add information to the article. Please make sure that any information follows Wikipedia policy especially wp:V, wp:NPOV, and wp:NOR.
