I just typed in Proteas and got a cricket team! what's that all about????? lets get a redirect up. I lack the know-how to do it though....

Thanks for that. Proteas now redirects to Protea (disambiguation). Hesperian 23:25, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

== The dating of Protea origins (300 Myr) in this article cites no evidence and conflicts with other entries in Wikipedia (such as angiosperms)

-- As a member of the "general audience" I was surprised to see the notice which says the Species section is "too technical and extensive for general audience"...Really??? I think you might be underestimating your audience. A list of species, including common names, is basic information and exactly what people might be looking for. Other articles on a particular genus include a full list of species, why shouldn't Protea?

My other query was with the statement "Proteas usually flower during spring time." With so many species, surely they don't all flower in spring? I'm not an expert but I was under the impression at least some of them start flowering in winter. Can someone elaborate on this or cite a reference please? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.64.126.128 (talk) 17:23, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Need Section on Sugar Use[edit]

Need a section on the former use of Protea repens (Common Sugarbush Protea) as sugar source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.205.211.95 (talk) 03:11, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
