Merger proposal into Chiral symmetry breaking[edit]

Looks like a section for Chiral symmetry breaking, (or arguably Chiral symmetry, or...). Cuzkatzimhut (talk) 16:31, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Which happens first?[edit]

Which happens first? The spontaneous symmetry breaking, or the explicit? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.247.166.192 (talk) 13:26, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

??? What does "first" mean? They are two independent phenomena which, in principle, occur separately, in theories where they happen to do. In QCD, the "real world", they are both present.
For some quarks, the light ones, the explicit breaking is much smaller, in magnitude (current quark masses) than the spontaneous/dynamical such, and thus can serve as a perturbation modifying quantities of the spontaneously broken theory, like the mass of the pseudogoldstone boson. But, of course, for the heaviest quarks, c,b,t, it is the other way round. Cuzkatzimhut (talk) 15:41, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Can the article say that both sequences are possible, with examples like you state?
