I had reservations about citing Henri Etcheto's Les Scipions. Famille et pouvoir à Rome à l’époque républicaine: I knew nothing about the author, & it is published on a website (Hal-archives) that appears to exercise no editorial control: anyone can upload a manuscript there. However, there is a Bryn Mawr review of this monograph, which states Etcheto's work is a revision of a doctoral thesis presented at the University Michel de Montaigne – Bourdeaux. Based on these two criteria, I believe it passes the standard for a reliable source, which is a welcome thing: we can always use more reliable sources of recent creation for Roman History. -- llywrch (talk) 18:28, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, he uploaded his book on a open-source platform. Very nice of him. The book is a very thorough study of the Scipiones and it is to me the reference work on the family. T8612 (talk) 19:00, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
