Concerning the disputed text

[edit]

The text in question is quoted directly from Tower's program note, which can be reprinted with attribution, and, to the best of my knowledge, is not under the copyright of G. Schirmer Inc.. Jg2904 (talk) 06:19, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Jg2904: Quoting it as you are is generally OK. The only thing that concerns me is the length of the quote in context to the rest of the article. Generally with quotes, you want them to support something you've written in the article elsewhere. When the quote is used to provide content, it becomes a problem. I would suggest taking some of the quoted material and paraphrasing it, then using the quote to support that. Or trim the quote to the minimum size needed to convey what is intended. Thanks! Thanks for responding, Crow! In that case, I'll look into paraphrasing some of the quote into the article. The second paragraph could probably lend itself to that best. Jg2904 (talk) 23:37, 13 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
