[edit]This page should not be speedily deleted because... QuidditchUK has been around for over a year now and we have just had our first big tournament in the UK (The British Quidditch Cup) on the 9-10th of November in Oxford. It had 16 teams, over 200 players and over 100 spectators. This page would give information to people in the UK looking to get in to Quidditch because we are still growing and although we are a part of the International Quidditch Association though we operate by ourselves and set up our own games and tournaments (like the British Quidditch Cup, Highlander and Whiteknights tournaments... and many more to come) with our own team of personnel/staff (we have a chairman, art department, media department, pr department, gameplay department and more) who's job it is to promote Quidditch in the UK which gets people outside and getting fit and being active. The reason QuidditchUK needs it's own page, seperate from the International Quidditch Association is also because we are the direct link for people in the UK and the International Quidditch Association will just send them to us.
I know this isn't much of a reason but this is my first time creating a page on Wikipedia so i may have done things incorrectly, which i apologise for. I have just worked out that there is an Article Wizard which could have served me better and giving this page a chance to stay up, again i apologise for not following the correct procedures when i made this page.
- Something you might have missed in the Article Wizard is where it asked you for sources. Evidence of coverage in third-party reliable sources is crucial if an article is to stay up. Google News might be of help. --- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 17:48, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
Thank you Blanchardb for replying, yes i did miss the Article Wizard and i know now that that should have been the place i started, i was just too eager to get the page started after i saw someone had created a page about our most recent event and i realised that we didn't have a page ourselves. I will attempt to use Article Wizard now to continue, if that is allowed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SinkSwim (talk • contribs) 17:53, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
- I suggest you gather your sources before you proceed. If the page gets deleted in the mean time, you can recreate it. --- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 18:10, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
I think that is what i will do, if it does end up getting deleted then i now know how to go about creating it correctly. Thank you for your help :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by SinkSwim (talk • contribs) 18:20, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
