Notes
[edit]"The psychedelic component of cough syrup is the chemical dextromethorphan hydrobromide (DXM)"
Is that really needed? I realize the doctor pharmacist mentions it in the episode, but it doesn't really contribute anything to the article. If anything, it just helps people do exactly what the episode antagonizes. --Charibdis 03:24, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
Goofs
[edit]The First airing of the News mention chicken as the school lunch, but the boys receive pizza after the airing? Is this a goof or did I miss something? 84.48.184.130 19:11, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
- They ate pizza at a pizza restaurant, not at school. That scene was most likely supposed to be after school, so no goof. Although, I'm kind of confused when they're supposed to be writing and recording/airing their news show. During classes? Mac OS X 02:02, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure it's for a class, because the guy who controls the shows says 'I'm afraid it's worse than that boys, I'm going to have to give you all Fs in Extracirricular AV Class' or something along those lines, so they probably film it during that time.Voltair3 (talk) 17:07, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
- Interestingly enough, the kids at that restaurant seems to be pretty excited when Craig brings his new episode of his show with him, even while watching the show inside the restaurant. This despite the fact that none of the students at that point seem to affected by cough medicine, which was supposed to explain Craig's high ratings. (The reaction Eric, Kyle, Stan and Butters have when they try the cough medicine suggests that the effects would be pretty visible had the kids been using cough medicine at that time) So contrary to the boys' discovery, Craigs show seems to be pretty popular regardless of whether the kids are hopped up on cough medicine or not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.247.150.183 (talk) 21:55, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Cite and return to the talk page;
- Super School News is an actual short news program broadcast on Rocky Mountain PBS.
- In the scene where Stan is under the influence of cough medicine, effects similar to those from the intro of Doctor Who can be seen.
- In the scene where the boys are buying cough medicine, all of the fake brands are actually based on real ones, specifically Cortissin, which is based on the real Coricidin and Robitussin, cough and cold which can be used as a strong hallucinogen.
- During the last "Animals Close-Up With a Wide-Angle Lens Wearing Hats" sequence, the first shot of a dog wearing a red fez also has two large South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut posters featuing Cartman and Kenny on the wall in the background.
- While trying to come up with ideas, Cartman suggests crab people, to which Stan responds "Dude, I think we can do little better than crab people!" This is a reference to South Park is Gay!, in which the crab people first appear. The crab people were originally meant as a plot filler, but they were never replaced in the storyline.

[edit]Regarding the Trivia that I submitted "During the last "Animals Close-Up With a Wide-Angle Lens Wearing Hats" sequence, the first shot of a dog wearing a red fez also has two large South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut posters featuing Cartman and Kenny on the wall in the background.", can you specify exactly what was wrong with it? Unlike the other "Trivia" contribs, which seem to be based more on assumption or conjecture, this is something that actually appears in the episode. What would be required for verification? A screencap?

- That would help, notability too would be nice. Alastairward (talk) 17:46, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit]It is important to note they never wore their trademork hats in this episode because they've never done it in another episode to date. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.184.40.212 (talk) 23:32, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
