Naming confusion
[edit]There seems to be widespread confusion regarding the "raad" weapon. It seems the first and correct use is for a copy of the AT-3 Sagger anti-tank guided missile ([1] [2]), but other sources have described it variously as:
- 155 mm self-propelled artillery ( Raad 1 ),
- long range (+1000km) cruise missile (possibly anti-ship).[3]
Could this be due to confusion over the arabic word "ra'ad" versus "raad", the former seems to mean "son" (see Ra'ad) and the latter "thunder" with different sources using different names. Deon Steyn 06:22, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Hezbollah
[edit]- Adding to the confusion, Hezbollah claimed to have used variants of this missile (Raad 2 and Raad 3) in the 2006 Israel-Lebanon crisis which would be improbable due to its short range and specific role (anti-tank).
Uh...? Hezbollah used anti-tank missiles extensively, against... tanks! This isn't only original research, it's really, really sloppy original research. Eleland 16:17, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
