Please pay attention to whether a category is non-diffusing when you categorize articles. You recently added Radha Kessar to Category:Indian women mathematicians, a non-diffusing subcategory of Category:Indian mathematicians. When you did so, you should not have removed her from Category:Indian mathematicians. Basically we don't want to ghettoize the women and cause people looking at the main category to think that it's populated only for men. That's why we have non-diffusing categories. So Kessar needs to remain in the main category, even though she's also in the subcategory — that's what it means to be non-diffusing. It would have been ok (and I have done so) to move her from the top-level category to the by-century subcategory, but it is not ok to keep her only in the gender-specific subcategory. —David Eppstein (talk) 23:49, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
