Subject seems to have been a notable academic
[edit]Just a few quick finds:
- Google book search for books authored by him
- A different list of books authored by Richard William Hunt
- Yet another list of his works
- Exhibition in his honor at Oxford
- Obituary at the Society of Archivists (not free content)
- Balliol has memorial inscription in antechapel
He is also mentioned as "Richard Hunt" here and possibly many other places as well. But this is a different Richard Hunt.
I don't think that he becomes notable by being the father of a Nobel Laureate. He does seem to have independent notability-- if he had died in 2009 instead of 1979, more evidence from WP:RS would be online. Questionic (talk) 16:38, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yes i found those sources as well, and shall add to the article when time allows, he was obviously quite notable just from looking at the amount of citations his work has had mark nutley (talk) 16:47, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks, I made a few changes before seeing your reply, but will be happy to let you do more on the scholarly stuff. Questionic (talk) 22:52, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
Bigamy
[edit]I see he was a bigamist, having married his second wife ten months before the death of his first wife. Or at least that seems to be what the article implies. Can this be right? JBel (talk) 11:05, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
