He often referred to Orwell as a 'scribbly little bastard' for his complaints about the front not being particularly active.

If anyone can reference it, please return it to article.--Technopat (talk) 12:18, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edwards has been widely quoted as making such comments about Orwell (not those exact words) but I also read somewhere that his write-up of his experiences was a matter of jumping on the Orwell bandwagon and was highly inaccurate. One of those things to get back to. Motmit (talk) 19:35, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

See ILP @ 120 Dec 13 2013 article by Matthew Brown "Bob Edwards - a lifetime on the Left" which quotes Edwards on Orwell with the approval of a relative of his wife and mentioning two books by Christopher Hall on Orwell and the Spanish Civil War, and incidentally also gives credit to Edwards for acknowledging Orwell's bravery under fire. Orwell was NOT a little man, physically.2.125.53.196 (talk) 14:49, 9 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
