Florey's Own Claims

[edit]

I would like to see some kind of citation for the claim that Florey cowrote the script for Frankenstein. David J. Skal in Screams of Reason, along with Peter Haining, editor of the Frankenstein Omnibus, discuss Florey's tendency to overinflate his importance to the creation of the Frankenstein movie. He wrote a draft for Frankenstein which was rejected, and he was removed from scripting or directing the film well before it was made. He is uncredited, likely not as a slight against him, but because he didn't contribute much to the final product. In his later years, he allegedly sent copies of the Frankenstein script, with a fake cover page crediting him with its writing, to enquiring fans. Florey made many contributions to cinema throughout his long career, but some of his personal claims to fame are in dispute. 69.73.112.198 (talk) 11:23, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
