Disney

[edit]

I continue to not think that Disney should be mentioned as a distributor for this film. This practice is done on virtually every 20th Century Studios film post-acquisition, so I see no reason why this page should be exempted. As for any sources which mention Disney, this happens for all 20th Century Studios films (because it is indeed true that they are owned by Disney), so it doesn't matter in my opinion. I don't think Disney is credited anywhere in this film either. InfiniteNexus (talk) 06:53, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@InfiniteNexus: I agree. On a separate but related note, I think the article currently talks about dull corporate stuff too much. JAYFAX (talk) 19:37, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging @FloorMadeOuttaFloor for their thoughts. InfiniteNexus (talk) 03:37, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I haven't watched the film (not yet) as I am currently not home. However, when I watch the entire film, I can give a proper statement regarding this. FloorMadeOuttaFloor (Leave me a messageChanges I have made) 03:40, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay ... but I don't think it really matters what the film says. What matters is that we don't mention Disney on any other 20th Century Studios films, so there's already a precedent for this. Still, after just checking Disney+ real quick, I can tell you that the Disney name and logo do not appear in the opening, closing, or end credits. Well, Dark Phoenix did mention Disney in the end credits (in the theatrical release). As is with films from other Disney subsidiaries (excluding Searchlight Pictures, however), a text at the end of the film reads "Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures". Let's take a look at this. Notice how the second column is either marked with "Disney", "20th", or "Searchlight"? That is how Disney films are credited as distributed by. That is why MCU and Star Wars films are listed as being distributed by Disney, but 20th Century and Searchlight films should not. InfiniteNexus (talk) 05:23, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
