Outdated info: "In January, 2006, BBC4 will debut an extensive documentary about Lane, which has been in the works since 2000"

Was the documentary actually broadcast? If so, full details required. Lee M 17:48, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeh it was, but I can't remember more specific details about it.--GurTheFred 11:38, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It was an edited broadcast of the feature-length commercially available DVD documentary "Ronnie Lane: The Passing Show". This edited version was broadcast at least twice during 2006. It is the fashion for BBC4 to repeat content fairly often in the 12 months following initial broadcast.HippyGumbo (talk) 23:05, 5 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Rough Mix was originally released on MCA, not Atlantic.

Plonk[edit]

Why was he nicknamed "Plonk"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.131.75.56 (talk) 12:00, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Difficult to find any WP:RS. But originated in his Small Faces days, apparently. Leading theories seem to be - size of his man-portion, fondness for cheap wine, lack of guitar-playing ability. Amther nicnakme was "three piece", allegedly. Martinevans123 (talk) 13:10, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
He was reportedly named 'Plonk' after the sound made by his bass guitar playing during his Small Faces days... 'Three-piece' was a later nickname earned during his days in Faces where he took to wearing full three-piece suits on stage.HippyGumbo (talk) 23:11, 5 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I produced and directed (along with James Mackie)a BBC documentary about Ronnie Lane called the Passing Show, I would like to add that there are some ommisiipns to his discography and a few minor errors in this piece[edit]

Please mention our film about Ronnie, the Passing Show, we made an hour long documentary for the BBC and 90 minute version for DVD sales, it came out in 2006 and made Mojo magazines list of the top 100 music related films of all time 2A00:23C7:5310:6101:84A2:3C3F:FEA8:87A (talk) 13:40, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
