Priesthood date needs correction[edit]

He is stated to have been ordained priest in April 1897, but this cannot be correct because he was already a functioning Catholic clergyman at least 20 years, inter alia as Canon of Shrewsbury Cathedral and local prison chaplain, and it does not give him many months as priest before consecration as Bishop of Shrewsbury in June of that year. I strongly suspect a typo but I would leave it to anyone who can find a cited ordination date.Cloptonson (talk) 13:15, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have located the correct ordination date, in 1870, on the CH website already cited in the page and have thus corrected the detail accordingly with due citation.Cloptonson (talk) 19:21, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
