Image of Santacruz railway station
[edit][1] image is better than [2] for the following reasons :
- It is more panoramic.
- Almost the entire station can be viewed right upto the bus terminus on the eastern side.
- I really can help it if the other editor blames Indian Railways or me for the failure of Indian Railways to write railway station rather than just the suburb's name [3] [4].
- Contrary to the other editor's views, the station name is visible as are all 6 platforms (as opposed to only 2). One may zoom in if more clarity is required.

- Refer WP: IMAGE RELEVANCE. In trying to be panoramic, the image fails to properly show the station itself. For. example, the signboard is minuscule and the text is illegible even when viewed in the Media Viewer, and is a poor representation of the topic of the article. Read WP:LEADIMAGE, which mentions that lead images should not only be illustrating the topic specifically, but should also be the type of image that is used for similar purposes in high-quality reference works, and therefore what our readers will expect to see.
- Instead, the previous image is more appropriate for the lede because it focusses on the actual station. Trinidade (talk) 12:51, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- So you admit that the station name is visible. I am really tired of being told go read this, read that and expect the answer to miraculously drop from heaven. I have just finished a lovely session with an admin where i went around the mulberry bush for several spins instead of being told the specific issue which was quickly resolved. You have previously thought that [5] could be a post office image and when i asked you further questions you chose to state that it is not worth your time if i recall.
- How about a compromise? [6] should be the lead image as it is the entrance building - having visited Santacruz i am hopeful that you can be agreeable to this. And we can move the other images to a gallery section with the images titled train arriving or departing from Santacruz platform 2 and the 2nd title can be Panoramic view of Santacruz railway station. So can i go ahead with the above idea??Superfast1111 (talk) 15:14, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- I think its important for serious editors to read up on MOS topics in order to improve their editing skills, but then thats only my opinion. Regarding the imagery on this and other articles, I think its best to invite a non-involved editor to give his/her opinion on which among the current images is most suitable for placement in the info box. Also keep in mind that WP:LEADIMAGE says Lead images are not required, and not having a lead image may be the best solution if there is no easy representation of the topic., Trinidade (talk) 15:57, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- Oh i don't mind the reading but i actually prefer things like your previous paragraph which specifically details how you are seeing things,it does make life better so thanks for that. Anyway how about we try what i suggested for sometime and re-visit this topic in a week?? Personally i cant imagine an article of a station without images but then that is my opinion. Take care and enjoy the long weekend. Superfast1111 (talk) 16:22, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
