[edit]Who is maintaining this page? Everything that's written is acting as if SBT is only theoretical.
* "At various times it has been proposed by Wal-Mart, but has not been implemented as of 2006.
I worked for a company that had an SBT relationship with Wal-Mart for years. Unless this sentence is meant to mean company-wide with all vendors. I think it should be modified or deleted.
* "Implementation of SBT will require changes to the Universal Product Code."
At my last company and another company I was close to, we had SBT relationships with several stores (mostly grocery). The UPC was more than adequate at keeping track of inventory and our company had thousands of products that required unique identification.
I think this also needs to be updated. Certainly some industries are perfectly capable of implementing SBT with the current UPC.
Bias
[edit]This page seems rather POV. The main writer talks a lot about the benefits in a pretty biased way; for example, "the benefits are substantial", which I removed. Then who looks like another person writes negatively about SBT without citing any sources.
