American Visionary Art Museum has an exhibition[1] of several artists' works and a documentary video. Might be a source of information about some major current and historical artists, popularity, etc. Or at a minimum as evidence that genre has attracted notice and study by an art museum, to support notability. Thanks for the tip-off. I have added information on the exhibition to this article and the article on the History of the Czechs in Baltimore. Bohemian Baltimore (talk) 07:31, 17 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Photographs

[edit]

I tried to add photos of screen paintings that I took for the article, but they were deleted under copyright laws. If anybody knows how photographs could be properly added could they please add photos of screen paintings to the article? Bohemian Baltimore (talk) 07:30, 17 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

I have collected a handful of sources on screen painting in Baltimore. Anyone is free to incorporate them into the article, but if not I will eventually try to incorporate them into the article myself. Thanks.

Elaine Eff's book

[edit]

I plan to order Elaine Eff's book on screen paintings. Once I start reading it I will begin updating the article with the information I find inside. Should be interesting. Bohemian Baltimore (talk) 19:49, 20 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Women screen painters

[edit]

I would like to include information on women screen painters, and if the topic is mentioned in Elaine Eff's book, I will make sure to do so. When I met Ms. Eff she told me that there were originally few female screen painters, with women only taking up the art in large numbers with the advent of the women's lib movement in the 60s and 70s. I have heard from family that my great-grandmother was a screen painter, so I guess that would make her a pioneer of sorts. Anyway, the subject interests me, so expect to see a section about it in the near future. Bohemian Baltimore (talk) 20:20, 20 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
