Strip clubs?[edit]

Perhaps a separate article for Strip clubs in Portland, Oregon? ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:34, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Seems odd to me that adult theaters are here, but not strip clubs. The Thrillist article (by its headline alone) seems to provide good justification for not including strip clubs here, but if they're excluded...is there a good justification for why theaters should be? Sexual acts do not occur (or are at least not "supposed" to) at either. -Pete Forsyth (talk) 22:08, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Peteforsyth, Hey! I did not include strip clubs within the scope of this article because sex acts do not occur at strip clubs. I thought sex acts occurred at adult theaters, which is why I covered them here. I admit, this is not my area of expertise. I'm not opposed to changing the scope of this article by removing adult theaters or otherwise. Just wanted to explain my thought process. Or, what about a merge, so, Sex clubs and strip clubs in Portland, Oregon? I assumed there was enough info about strip clubs specifically to warrant a separate entry, but perhaps that's jumping the gun. ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:17, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not my area either, so I don't have too strong an opinion...I think that theaters tend to be audience only, and at least from a legal perspective if not practical, I suspect that there are certain things that the audience is not supposed to do. But, that's getting into weeds that I'm not eager to explore too closely. Do with the feedback what you will :) -Pete Forsyth (talk) 22:23, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Peteforsyth, Sure, very helpful, thanks. I'll say this: Oregon Theatre describes live sex shows and public masturbation and Paris Theatre has a Willamette Week quote which describes the venue as "an adult movie theater, sex club and safe space for public masturbators". Won't be the end of the world to me if we don't include adult theaters in the scope of a "sex clubs" article, but we're not far off. ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:44, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
