I didn't realize that the title was redlinked at first—but reviewing Wikipedia's guidance on linking, and the documentation for the interlanguage link template, I can't see any reason why your edit wouldn't be acceptable, and I also see that it'll automatically be edited to normal interlanguage format if and when the redlink is replaced by a link to an article on English Wikipedia. So I've self-reverted to your edit here and at the other page you added this template to yesterday (there could be others, but only two were on my watchlist, both linking to the same title).
