Name in Japanese
[edit]The seal depicted on the external website Shinkichi Tajiri contains kanji showing his name in Japanese as 田尻 慎吉 (Tajiri = 田尻 / Shinkichi = 慎吉). Oddly enough, at present his Japanese Wikipedia entry only gives his name in katakana, as シンキチ・タジリ. — IslandGyrl (talk) 06:14, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
- Perhaps because he was an American and lived outside Japan?--Radh (talk) 07:06, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
- That would make sense. The idea being that even if he did use a certain kanji version of his name on a seal, there never was an official legal document issued by any government with that version on it. Unlike in Japan itself, where seals are registered with the government for use as signatures on legal documents. — IslandGyrl (talk) 10:15, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
