My idea of removing cowbirds
[edit]For me, I thought of sewing the cloaca of the brood parastic birds in order passeriforms. If that occurs, we can sew up the female brood parastic passerine's cloaca to prevent defecation and the egg binding occurs. I'm not thinking that to cuckoo finches and indingo birds yet, but to remove shiny cowbird and save the songbird hosts. If the female shiny cowbird's cloaca is blocked, (as well as other brood parastic passerine females) she cannot lay eggs or defecation. And that cowbird will engage carnivalism to kill and/or eat juvenile cowbirds and her own eggs as well. But some people think that's cruelty to animals. I am borrowed idea to remove nutria as sew up the cloaca. Then if that occurs, and it's using to the shiny cowbirds and other brood parastic passerines, then we can protect the hosts. Article Edits
[edit]Hello all! I was assigned this article to edit for a class, so I made quite a few changes. I used the Brown headed cowbird page as a template for the sections and subheadings. I added citations where needed and wrote a lot of new material for the behaviour section. Though the list for "further reading" is still long and looks clunky, I left it in case anyone wanted to edit further, as they are good reference material.
