How is that Timurid victory? Even on George VII article is said that George Liberated Alinja from the timurids and defeated the army sent by Miran Shah, the results need to be changed into Georgian victory. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.73.235.232 (talk) 17:58, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The linked Georgian page is about the battle of Alinja in 1398 and this page is about the protracted siege of Alinja from 1388 to 1401. The Georgians won the battle temporarily but Tamerlane beseiged Alinja again, resulting in a Timurid victory. This is all in article text. Annwfwn (talk) 13:24, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The Georgians participated only in 1398, in 1388 it was the Jalayirid prince who was besieged in Alinja and the Georgians liberated the Jalayrid prince and leave the fortress, so the Georgians participated only in 1398 and the Jalayirids in 1388 to 1401 188.73.235.232 (talk) 17:10, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also according to Bedrosian he only mentioned "1399 King Giorgi VII of Georgia attacked the Timurid besiegers of Ernjak fortress, temporarily freeing those inside from the thirteen-year siege." Nothing more about 188.73.235.232 (talk) 17:16, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The Article created about the Battle of Alinja in 1398 but later they changed to the Siege of Alinja so in my opinion the Article need to change to the Battle of Alinja which was created for and linked to the Georgian page about the Battle of Alinja 188.73.235.232 (talk) 14:45, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree. The relevant sources highlight the siege and not the minor skirmish by George VII. The edits by this IP mirrors edits made by Caucasian127 and გიორგი172, blocked socks. As such this IP should be blocked. --Kansas Bear (talk) 20:33, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The George VII article is referenced by Zaza Anchabadze, who is not an academic. Thus not a reliable source. --Kansas Bear (talk) 13:43, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Move to "Battle of Alinja"

[edit]

the user(User:Hjoka78) who moved this article to "Siege of Alinja" has been blocked from Wikipedia, so how about moving the page back to "Battle of Alinja" and I'll add more information and sources 109.242.74.38 (talk) 13:21, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

So the article was created about the Battle of Alinja (1398) but someone's changed to the "Siege of Alinja 1388-1401" which is makes no sense, it was not even a single siege so the Siege of Tbilisi (627–628), Siege of Tbilisi (1122) and the Siege of Tbilisi (1386), should be in one article? Even someone deleted sourced changes. 109.242.73.191 (talk) 17:36, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

1401

[edit]

If Prince Tahir was rescued by the Georgians and they left the fortress, who did the Timurids fight against in 1401? 109.242.73.191 (talk) 18:55, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
