2012 Olympics
[edit]In the article I noticed that it doesn't mention the house's use as Casa Brasil (Brazil House) during the 2012 Olympics where it will house the Rio 2016 Olympic Committee. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.5.231.88 (talk) 13:04, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
Principal Registry of the Family Division
[edit]I am surprised that neither this article nor the history on the official website mentions the use of a part of Somerset House - at least in the latter part of the Twentieth Century - as the Principal Registry of the Family Division. Besides being the place where divorce petitions, etc., were filed in London, it was also the location for the Registrars of the Family Division, who were eventually renamed (by the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990) as 'District Judges of the Family Division', which more accurately described their role. They generally sat 'in Chambers' rather than in open court, and their chambers were here. They dealt with most financial matters arising out of divorces and many matters relating children, apart from those which were sufficiently weighty to be dealt with by a Circuit Judge, or a High Court Judge of the Family Division. Can anyone confirm how long the Registry was here? And in what Wing? It probably did not leave until the 1990s.Ntmr (talk) 12:38, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
