Dug up a link while reviewing this, noting it on the talk page to add later http://www.eurovisionary.com/australia-2016-dami-im-releases-snippet-sound-silence/ JamesG5 (talk) 03:47, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Should we move page to 'Sound of Silence (Dami Im song)', since there is another single called "The Sound of Silence" by American music duo Simon & Garfunkel also available? --Plaegely (talk) 09:18, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Plaegely: in short answer... no. The other article is different in title and would not confuse people. Dami Im's song doesn't start with the word "the". Please refer to the guidance at WP:NATURALDIS for more in-depth explanation. The template {{Distinguish2}} tag placed at the top of both song articles clears up any potential confusion that may arise. Wes Mouse  10:20, 10 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I boldly did this anyway, on the grounds that, IMO, presence or absence of "the" is not really enough to distinguish two song titles. I also changed the redirect from the old name to point to the S&G song, since (again IMO) most people checking that title will be looking for the S&G song. As a side effect, the dablink on this page (but not on The Sound of Silence) is no longer needed. Hairy Dude (talk) 00:07, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Sound of Silence vs Sound of Silence[edit]

The confusion is that, not only is there an existing song by Simon & Garfunkel called The Sound of Silence, but recently a band called Disturbed released a highly successful cover song of it, which is charting at the same time as Dami Im's song, which has an almost identical name, but is a completely different song. I think that this needs to be put at the head of each article, to avoid this confusion. At present we simply have a disambiguation page, which is only linked from Simon & Garfunkel's Sound of Silence page, not from this page. We need a big cleanup on this, I think.
