Anti-NSWRL slant

[edit]

I have made some edits as the overall tone of this article gave rise to Brisbane Broncos fans' conspiracy theories that the Crushers were established in order to weaken or hold back the Broncos, stemming from an incorrectly assumed NSWRL bias against the Broncos. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.100.80.10 (talk) 15:33, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I believe there are incorrect facts as to why the Crushers were established by the NSWRL. You can't state that the NSWRL were trying to 'hold back' the Broncos by establishing a second team in Brisbane. This was never an official reason to start the team. Brisbane has the population, stadia, supporter base and junior development areas to support more than 1 team. You can't state it as fact that they were brought in to hold the Broncos back - you can state that some allege this is the reason. The team wasn't 'hastily' developed either - the allowed them entry for 1995 in November 1992. That is the same time given to most new licenses, including the Broncos, and more recently the Gold Coast Titans. I think the language of the article needs to be far more neutral as to the reasons why the Crushers were established. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.100.80.10 (talk) 15:51, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
