With sources titled "El español como idioma científico: Salto al vacío o salto a la red" (Spanish as Cientific Language: A Jump to the Void or to the Web), "El español se atasca como lengua científica" (Spanish's troubles as scientific language) and The field of science and higher education between the monopoly of English and plurilingualism: elements for a language policy in Latin America, its safe to say that, yes, the topic itself is discussed in the sources.
