I agree, SPIT (cooking use) should stay as a seperate entry. A "Skewer" is somewhat similar but not the same, regardless, SPIT is the word and should not merge with "skewer".

In general it seems inappropriate to have this discussion prior to the availabiltiy of pictures to illustrate either cooking method. I would be particularly interested in a picutre of a dog powered treadmill.
