Squire Theorem is not valid for the spatial problem

[edit]

Squire derived the Squire transformation for the temporal eigenvalue problem (complex frequency and real wavenumbers of instability modes). However, the transformation needs to be extended for the spatial eigenvalue problem (real frequency and complex wavenumbers). The extended Squire transformation indicates that the Squire theorem is not valid for the spatial problem where streamwise and spanwise wavenumber can be complex numbers.
