Spelling of his name

[edit]

The article seems to need some confusion cleared up in regards to how the thiefs name is officially spelt. Namely; in the title of the article it says Breitw>ie<ser, whereas in the very first words of the article it says Breitw>ei<ser. Which one is correct? Or at the very least, which one should be chosen for consistency throughout the article? Asked by 82.100.127.185 (talk) 21:51, 24 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

1.5 bn?

[edit]

This not a credible estimation. 300 items at 5 million each would amount to 1.5bn. The most valuable stolen piece seems to be the only one in the millions range. The Guardian piece says that 110 items thrown in the river were worth 6 millions. The BBC reports visibly an earlier guess ("The French police are quoting a value of 1.5bn euros, and when you are dealing with 60 to 70 museum-quality pieces that would be about right.") which seems wrong by a factor of 10 or 100. 80.72.94.110 (talk) 21:43, 3 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mother

[edit]

I hadn't ever heard the mother-destroying-stolen-art aspect. Can someone please expand on this? 69.254.196.144 16:16, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Quantity Stolen

[edit]

the art_theft page specifies 238 pieces of art were stolen and this page specifies 239, neither with a verifiable source. Desolite (talk) 14:27, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Arrested again?

[edit]

Apparently this page needs a major update!
