Since 1969 the school has been led by a headmaster. Father Fred 'Fritz' G. Minuth was the Priory's first headmaster from 1969 until he was succeeded by Father David K. Kennedy in 1981.[3][4] As of 2009 the headmaster was Sandra J. Theunick. The Priory Head of School is Ruth R. Fletcher, Ph.D. The Priory remains as an all-girls school.

Marilyn Matsunaga was head of school from 2004-2007. Sandra J. Theunick served as head of school from 2007 until 2016. Today, Ruth R. In 2014, the St. Andrew’s Schools was established as an umbrella organization encompassing St. Andrew’s Priory School, the existing coeducational [[Queen Emma Preschool]] and the newly created [[St. Andrew's Preparatory School for Boys]] (The Prep).[1] The opening of The Prep expanded the school’s educational program to include elementary-aged boys for the first time. In that same year, St. Andrew's opened its doors to boys in kindergarten and first grade. Each year thereafter, another grade was added to The Prep.In 2017, The St. Andrew's Schools was renamed St. Andrew's Schools: The Priory, The Prep and The Preschool (or Queen Emma Preschool). In 2024, The Prep celebrated its 10th anniversary.[5]In 2026, St. Andrew’s Schools transitioned to a fully coeducational K–12 model, bringing students together within a unified educational program while continuing to operate Queen Emma Preschool as a coeducational early childhood program.

... and most references to "St. Andrew's Priory," "The Priory," etc. should be updated, as the school now goes by "St. Andrew's Schools" or "St. Andrew's." Historical references or references to accomplishments earned when the original "Priory" naming convention was still active should (could?) remain.

  • Why it should be changed:

St. Andrew's Schools transitioned to a full co-educational model, preschool to grade 12 in the Fall of 2026 per their website and the Hawaii News Now article listed below. These changes would serve to prevent confusion regarding "St. Andrew's Priory" as opposed to "St. Andrew's Schools".

Please note that references in this edit request are numbered based on the references listed below, not per the original St. Andrew's Schools article. (I likely formatted this incorrectly, so I appreciate any patience and grace you may grant to a budding editor).

St. Andrew's Transition to Co-ed

[edit]

St. Andrew's Schools transitioned to a fully co-educational model, preschool to grade 12 in the Fall of 2026 per their website, and has removed all mention of their previous single-gender schools (The Prep and The Priory). The changes proposed here (accidentally added as a reply to an unrelated topic on this talk page) would serve to prevent confusion regarding the status of their educational model, as well as regarding "St. Andrew's Priory" as opposed to "St. Andrew's Schools".
