A fact from St Ives Lifeboat Station appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 27 November 2010 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that five of the seven men killed when the St Ives Lifeboat was wrecked in January 1939 were survivors of a previous lifeboat wreck in January 1938?
There seems to be some confusion with the boats in the 1880s. There were two Exeters and one or two Covent Garden?
Cornishman, 19 February 1885 p4 – Covent Garden went out to practice.
Cornishman, 16 September 1886 p4 – new lifeboat Exeter arrived by train to replace the old boat also called Exeter (which was in service in 1880). Jowaninpensans (talk) 23:27, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
