Rumble in the jungle

[edit]

The last information is false. It is the fr:Stade Tata Raphaël which was used for the famous match. I guess the Stade des Martyr wasn't even created in 1974 (it was build by the Chineses like the Palais du Peuple).

Yes, this is correct.

Clarification?

[edit]

I was doing some minor diction edits to this article, but I'm unsure what is meant by this: [the stadium] "can stage athletics". Since its primary use has already been stated to be football, I'm not clear on what this is meant to imply. Other sports? Track and field specifically?

The stadium is an oval (olympic?) style stadium with a full sized track surrounding the field. So basically it is an athletics/track and field stadium, similair in style to a summer olympics stadium. However, it's actual main usage is for football matches. I can't think of a good, flowing way to say this.Pongetti 03:01, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seating Capacity

[edit]

How big is the stadium? The list of largest stadiums in Africa page reports capacity for 60 000 people, which seems reasonable. The 125 000 figure is very unrealistic, as that would make it the second largest in the world Evanodell (talk) 18:17, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
