Jewish?[edit]

I removed the mention of him being Jewish because I couldn't confirm it. He may well be, as he did live in Israel. But does anyone have a good source? Mad Jack 21:49, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

His name is not Jewish at least (both Stanislav and Ianevski). It's purely Bulgarian (Slavic), and Bulgarian Jews usually can easily be identified by their Spanish- (Sephardi) or German-sounding (Ashkenazi) names. So... it's not likely at all.
Purely theoretically, of course, his mother could be Jewish, making him Jewish in spite of his Gentile last name. But yeah, the fact that someone lived in Israel for a while doesn't make them Jewish. User:Angr 09:03, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
