There could be some possible breaches of copyright within a few of the issues. One particular issue, "The Grave of Mankind", featured images of a freighter which looked exactly the same as an Eagle Transporter from Space:1999. Another issue, "Deathwheel", featured a spacecraft that looked like the Rebel Medical Frigate from the film Return of the Jedi.Douglasnicol 17:42, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, does anyone know the reason for the ending of the run? Was it just decided to end it? Poor sales? Douglasnicol 17:42, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Given that Writers and Artists are not credited in these books, what's the source of the information on those named in the article? I've seen mention in interviews of Grant Morrison's credits, and I've seen the Mike McMahon issue, but what about the rest? Was Alan Moore really involved at any stage of his career? And John Ridgway, et al.? Ogtec 18:14, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Towards the end of the Starblazer run, the inside rear covers featured a run down of all 281 issues, citing the artist and writer for each issue. I haven't checked them out for Alan Moore since I never contributed his name, but I could do so. As to Grant Morrison, he wrote a number of issues and I have them autographed. If you've any more enquiries, feel free to ask as I've a complete set of the Starblazers. Douglasnicol 18:17, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If it's possible, I think it would be useful to check that list to confirm (or otherwise) this page's creators entry. At present there's a number of names down with no source whatsoever (be it from an interview; a list like yours; or otherwise). Thanks Ogtec 14:01, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

From a recent conversation with Starblazer editor Bill McLoughlin who approved the following text for a press release (relating to the Starblazer RPG) you can see the main names involved; "comic creators such as Grant Morrison and John Smith, artists Enrique Alcatena, Mike McMahon, Cam Kennedy, John Ridgeway, Alan Rogers, Jaime Oritz, Ian Kennedy, Colin MacNeil and Casanovas Junior helped bring the fantastic 'spacefiction adventures in pictures' to life". Fair use rationale for Image:Starblazer (early style cover).jpg

[edit]

Image:Starblazer (early style cover).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Other Languages?

[edit]

I believe that at least some issues of Starblazer were translated into French, and possibly other languages, too. Anyone know anything about this? Kram2 —Preceding comment was added at 13:44, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, here's a web link about it.
