Article for deletion

[edit]

Please do delete this. Keeping it suggests that Wikipedia is dominated by SW fans, rather than being the objective encyclopedia it is supposed to be.

Absolutely; I agree. This article has no notability whatsoever and is fancruft that barely qualifies on Wookieepedia. I hope there is no objection to its immediate deletion. DARTHBOTTO talkcont 03:28, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, redirect to Stormtrooper (Star Wars), where the "character" can be covered in a sentence.— TAnthonyTalk 23:40, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Delete this. I found it rather surprising to find this at all... /Jonipoon (talk) 10:33, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
What is hold up on deleting this? Is there a voting page? There are already quite a few pages that link here so the sooner it is gone the better. Arbalest Mike (talk) 19:38, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm getting frustrated, as this should have been a very speedy deletion. DARTHBOTTO talkcont 22:15, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've created a section at Stormtrooper (Star Wars)#Performers that covers what we need to know about The Force Awakens (with citations) so this "article" should be deleted when the 7 days are up. I don't think it actually meets and of the speedy delete criteria though.— TAnthonyTalk 23:36, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you TAnthony, I think the section in the Stormtrooper article is a good way to handle this. Tony Mach (talk) 08:34, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You will note, however, that "JB-007" seems to be fan-invented and has not really been established by reliable sources.— TAnthonyTalk 08:37, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I did not know this. :-) Is there a source we can quote on that? It is this kind of information that I would like to be able to look up on Wikipedia. When I first heard about Craig Daniel in Force Awakens, I only found "No, he did not play in the film." and "Actually, he was JB-007" articles. Adding a source which says "Actually, the name JB-007 is a fan invention" would greatly contribute to the little paragraph about this cameo. Tony Mach (talk) 08:43, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but so far I have been unable to find a reliable source that even attributes the nickname to fans. I'm sure there will be one eventually, but if not, it is just trivia so no big loss.— TAnthonyTalk 16:17, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
