Purpose
[edit]The opening stated that the Pool was constructed by South Staffs Water to provide water for the Black Country which stikes me as very dubious. Why would the South Staffs company be building resovoirs for external demand. Surely the East Worcestershire Waterworks Company, water supply department of Wolverhampton Corporation, Birmingham Corporation Water Department, East Shropshire Water Board or North West Worcestershire Water Board would be more logical choices. The Black Country is a good 20-30 miles away with the topography not ideal for the transportation of water. There's a pumping station a few miles outside of Lichfield (the opposite way) to get water over the hill and into Tamworth. If the pool was built for demand external to Lichfield it would surely be for near by growing demand in Tamworth, Cannock, Walsall or at a push Birmingham. Its not a big pool so seems dubious to claim it was for bigger industrial demand. I've tried finding sources with no luck. Anyone any thoughts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.240.142.39 (talk) 23:06, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
