Added NPOV-section here because the page reads as pretty biased as-written currently. Zarenor (talk) 14:58, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
---
This whole section reads like it was written by someone who was forced to use standards they don't agree with and are blaming the tool. It contains a number of inaccuracies and personal opinions.
"For example, StyleCop does not allow the following statement to compile". This is incorrect for two reasons; 1. StyleCop doesn't prevent compilation of code, it gives warnings. 2. Rules can be configured (i.e. turned off) if you don't want to enforce them
"Also, StyleCop's rules apply to all code." No, the rules apply to any code you run it against. For example you can run it against a file, a project or a solution.
"as these "quick test" functions must follow the strict guidelines imposed by the tool." If you want to write 'quick test functions' or other temporary code that doesn't follow your chosen ruleset, then just ignore the warnings.
It sounds like where the OP works they have tied in StyleCop with some kind of CI tool which rejects code that doesn't meet their employers standard, not really suitable content for Wikipedia 89.197.148.154 (talk) 14:59, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
Yes, this is super obvious as a biased and self-researched section. Delete asap. 141.211.32.5 (talk) 16:54, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
