Greenhouse gas
[edit]Why no reference to SF6 as a greenhouse gas? (GWP of 23,900 times higher than CO2, with an atmospheric lifetime of 3,200 years!!) nor any ref to the toxic by products of SF6? http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10680375 a section on alternative technologies (oil, vacuum, air etc) would add balance too.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.195.94.134 (talk • contribs) 23:10, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- I added two links to high-voltage circuit breakers that covers the other techniques and to SF6 that mentions its characteristics. Dingy (talk) 01:08, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- I removed it, because it is complete and utter bullshit. Nobody who has been following the news on the "climate change" agenda and the regular scandalous revelations since November 2009 believes those fairy tales anymore, leastways people trained in science and engineeering. — QuicksilverT @ 08:06, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Sulfur hexafluoride circuit breaker. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20081219165326/http://www.areva-td.com/solutions/liblocal/docs/Products/1061196874876-F35-2.pdf to http://www.areva-td.com/solutions/liblocal/docs/Products/1061196874876-F35-2.pdf
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20050423184106/http://www.ewh.ieee.org:80/soc/pes/switchgear/Presentations/DufMont.pdf to http://www.ewh.ieee.org/soc/pes/switchgear/Presentations/DufMont.pdf
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Minor mistake in First paragraph?
[edit]In the last sentence : "Sulfur hexafluoride circuit breakers may be used as self-contained apparatus in outdoor air-insulated substations or may be incorporated into gas-insulated switchgear which allows compact installations at high voltages."
I think the author meant "gas-insulated station" instead of "gas-insulated switchgear" because these stations are more compact than AIS. 194.254.61.45 (talk) 15:59, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- How is this a mistake? The phrase "gas-insulated switchgear" returns many more Google books hits than "gas-insulated station". Seems to be the common term of the art. That edit was made in October 2008 in the circuit breaker article of which this is a content fork. --Wtshymanski (talk) 03:37, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
